Day Trip: PA Work-cation

20130201-083224.jpg
Recently inspired by a post on a “work-cation” over at Be Frugal and Fabulous, I decided to treat my work trip down to Aberdeen, MD last week as a mini vacation. I’ve driven this route dozens of times over the last year and a half, but I’ve never taken the time to appreciate the scenery until now.

My drive takes me through Lancaster and south-central Pennsylvania, over a dam with the Conowingo Hydro-power plant, and through northern Maryland to the Aberdeen Proving Grounds.

The day started out foggy and misty, and cleared up a little for my return trip home. Sorry for the awkward photo positioning, I’m posting this from my iPhone on my way to Nashville!

  1. Nice! I’ve had limited success with workcations, it takes some focus to make them happen. Do you have any travel tips for he Lancaster area? I’d like to get out and see PA Amish county and Gettyburg. It sound like something I could pull off in one weekend.

Let me know what you think!
