I was very excited by this week’s prompt over at A Word in Your Ear – the subject is “weather”! I was happy about this one because of the first photo in the list. I was hoping to have some opportunity to use it for a photo challenge – I’d never seen anything like it before. But in 2011, there was a snowstorm in the Northeastern US on Halloween weekend (end of October). The trees still had all of their autumn foliage on them, but the snow came down anyway and formed little islands of autumn surrounded by winter.
The last two photos on the list are the after-effects of Hurricane Lee. The weather was so wet for so many days that the Susquehanna River rose nearly 20 feet above its normal level and flooded cities and towns along its banks. The last photo was taken from our second-floor apartment – not only are we a full block away from the river – that sidewalk is normally 19 feet above the river level!
