Travel Tool: GripTight GorillaPod Tripod

I’m not feeling very inspired today, but I am feeling spendy!

I love to take photos while I’m travelling, but I always end up with blurry shots. The architecture, culture, and scenery of our trips will be memorable – and I don’t want my photos to look like I was drunk the whole time (surprisingly my photos from St. Kitts aren’t too blurry despite the fact that I was drunk most of the time).

So I’ve honed in on something that will help me take steady photos, as well as allow for hands-free self portaits. The Joby GripTight Stand looks like it will be an awesome travel tool. It’s small, lightweight, flexible, magnetic, and will work for both my smart phone and a regular camera.

I searched at several stores in my area – Best Buy (oh Best Buy, I keep giving you one more chance yet you never, ever pan out), Target, HHGregg (local electronics store), and Sears. Nobody had it. Best Buy had a spot for it, but they were all sold out! Target had one Joby travel tripod, but not the kind to accommodate smart phones. So I ended up buying it at I’m really excited to get it and try it out!

I also got a bunch of fun camera/video apps for my iPhone that I plan to try in the next few weeks.

So while I didn’t really feel inspired to write anything long and detailed for the blog today, I wanted to share my fun new toy 🙂 I’ll post a review once I’ve actually had a chance to use it.
