Got the bug

I’ve got the travel bug. Wanderlust. The need for an inner (and outer) journey.

I’ve always loved to travel. My favorite thing as a kid was our vacations around the US – the four of us would pack into the car and drive all over the US. By the time I got to college, I had been to all 48 continental states. By the time I graduated, I had been to the three major countries in North America.

But only now – at the age of 26 – I will venture out into the world beyond our shores for the first time.

I’ve got a full time job that gives me a good number of vacation days every year, and I fully intend to put them to good use! Unfortunately, we’ve got a ton of student loans, and we find it important to save for both retirement and near-term needs, like buying vehicles, a house, etc. So my travel budget is pretty small. I have to be creative with how I get to see the world without spending a lot of money.

For some reason, I never really got into scrapbooking. I love the end results (being able to recall key fun events in an attractive way) – but I could never really stick with it. So I’ll post a record of my travel here for posterity!
